2. What is Medicare, and how does it work?

Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people aged 65 and older, as well as certain younger individuals with disabilities or specific medical conditions. It consists of multiple parts:

  • Part A (Hospital Insurance)

  • Part B (Medical Insurance)

  • Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans)

  • Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage)

3. What is the difference between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage?

  • Original Medicare includes Part A and Part B, offering basic coverage but without prescription drug benefits (Part D) or additional benefits like vision or dental.

  • Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are offered by private insurers and include all benefits of Parts A and B, often bundled with prescription drug coverage and additional benefits

4. When can I enroll in Medicare?

You can enroll during the following periods:

  • Initial Enrollment Period (IEP): 3 months before, during, and 3 months after your 65th birthday.

  • Annual Enrollment Period (AEP): October 15 – December 7 for changes to your plan.
Special Enrollment Period (SEP): For qualifying life events, such as losing other coverage.

5. What happens if I don’t enroll in Medicare on time?

Delaying enrollment without qualifying for a Special Enrollment Period may result in penalties, such as higher premiums for Part B and Part D. It’s essential to enroll on time to avoid unnecessary costs.

6. Can you help me compare Medicare plans?

Yes! Our agency provides personalized guidance to compare plans based on your specific needs, such as preferred doctors, prescriptions, and budget.

7. Does Medicare cover prescription medications?

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover most prescriptions. You will need a Part D plan or a Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage for medications.

8. How can I reduce my out-of-pocket costs with Medicare?

We can explore supplemental options like Medigap policies or Medicare Advantage plans that cap out-of-pocket expenses and include additional benefits like vision, dental, or wellness programs.

9. How do you help with the enrollment process?

We simplify the enrollment process by guiding you step-by-step. Whether you're new to Medicare or switching plans, we ensure you understand your options and help you make informed decisions.

10. Do you charge for your services?

No, our services are free for clients. We are compensated equally by the insurance carriers, so you get expert advice and support at no additional cost to you.
